The partners produce materials to support language teaching and career counselling.

The project materials are meant for Finnish or Estonian teachers, who work with adult immigrant learners and need material for tutoring their students in finding suitable training or studies for themselves. The materials can also be translated and adopted to other languages and circumstances. The material consists of short presentations (e.g.  PowerPoint slide show, video presentation etc.) in Finnish or Estonian. The topics are listed below.

Language aware counselling

The language used in tutoring and councelling adult learners is very often the language spoken in the country concerned (Finnish/Estonian). Many newly arrived immigrants, however, don’t yet have sufficient language skills to understand the social and educational system of their new homeland. Therefore, language awareness and use of plain language are needed in tutoring the target group. The slideshow presents some examples of language aware councelling and  the Finnish plain language.
